All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray. I've been for a walk, on a winter's day...

The seasons are changing and so is my art interest.

I've been playing around with Graphic Design and creating Mandalas. Those who know me have found me unresponsive of late. I'm usually working on a design, not returning phone calls and basically living like a hermit. LOL. I'm sure that there are others who also do this...throw themselves into a new project and the hell with the real world, "let's create some art"!!!

:iconredbeard31:  redbeard31.deviantart.com/ has been gracious enough to let me manipulate some of his images into these wonderful kaleidoscope mandalas.

I've opened a shop on etsy at www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=… which feature some of these designs on keepsake boxes, clocks, journals, framed art and note cards. I'm particulary thrilled about how the clocks turned out and the custom journals are pretty cool too allowing you to choose the filler paper.

I'd love to hear your comments as well as suggestions for product suppliers that you have worked with that offer quality printing but don't charge an arm and a leg to do it.

Be well,

Ti

Baptizing the Bear

A priest, a Pentecostal preacher and a Rabbi all served as chaplains to the students of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

They would get together two or three times a week for coffee and to talk shop. One day, someone made the comment that preaching to people isn't really all that hard. A real challenge would be to preach to a bear.

One thing led to another and they decided to do an experiment. They would all go up to the Smokies, find a bear, preach to it, and attempt to convert it.

Seven days later, they're all together to discuss the experience.

Father Flannery, who has his arm in a sling, is on crutches, and has various bandages on his body and limbs, went first. 'Well,' he said, 'I went into the woods to find me a bear. And when I found him I began to read to him from the Catechism. Well, that bear wanted nothing to do with me and began to slap me around. So, I quickly grabbed my holy water, sprinkled him and, Holy Mary Mother of God, he became as gentle a lamb. The bishop is coming out next week to give him first communion and confirmation.'

Reverend Billy Bob spoke next. He was in a wheelchair, with an arm and both legs in casts, and an IV drip. In his best fire and brimstone oratory he claimed,'WELL brothers, you KNOW that WE don't sprinkle! I went out and I FOUND me a bear. And then I began to read to my bear from God's HOLY WORD! But that bear wanted nothing to do with me. So I took HOLD of him and we began to wrestle. We wrestled down one hill, UP another and DOWN another until we came to a creek. So right quick-like, I DUNKED him and BAPTIZED his hairy soul. And just like you said, he became as gentle as a lamb. We spent the rest of the day praising Jesus.'

They both looked down at the rabbi, who was lying in a hospital bed. He was in a body cast and traction with IV's and monitors running in and out of him. He was in bad shape. The rabbi looks up and says, 'Looking back on it, circumcision may not have been the best way to start.'

On a personal note, to the Bear that I have attempted to castrate this week, please accept my apologies.

Unleashing Your Creative Energy

Tapping into your creative center of energy might make it easier for you to infuse your activities with the fire that inspires and energizes you. Perhaps you can take a few minutes to focus on your second chakra, located a few inches below your navel, which is the center in your body for creative activity. Bringing your attention to this area, you might imagine a warm orange light growing with each breath. As you continue to breathe, try picturing this light coursing though your body. You may notice that this meditation can increase your energy and creativity as a result.

The second chakra is the gateway to creative expression and enjoyment in our lives. The energetic vibration of this center relates to the ways in which we are able to bring our passion into our lives, not only in terms of intimacy with our loved ones but also in terms of the activities that fully engage our hearts, minds, and spirits. Opening this area though meditation today will fill you with a dynamic energetic force, which will inspire you to cherish the precious gift of your life through your creative talent.

Namaste,

Ti
